Here is a nasty problem when you are trying to download a fresh copy of osx mavericks and try to make it a bootable usb.
Then you get hit by the message “This copy of install os x mavericks cannot be verified…”
After reading alot of forum threads i finally got it to work.
The problem is that when you have a clean formated disk, the date in the OSX base system is set to 1st of janary 2000. That causes the installation to not verify that that the computer can install osx mavericks.
How to fix this?
When you are att the startup screen after booting your mac, you can choose “tools” in the menu bar.
There you can access the Terminal, when opening the terminal you can input date and hit enter to see the current system date, and that its wrong.
To set the correct date, assume that todays date is 2014-10-08 21:00 input this into the terminal window
date 100821002014 (and hit enter)
(date [month][day][time][year])
Voiala! Just close the terminal and start the install.

nope. still gives me the same error =( I’ve tried so many times, I’m going crazy. I never have had these problems since 1998..
Then i’ll recommend that you go to your nearest apple store.
So helpful and easy to find thank you!
Finally, a solution! I can confirm that this works. Thank you.
